The legend of Calabogie...

Originally started by Big Daddy Cool, the Calabogie run is a 2-day trip up to Lake Calabogie and back that takes place on the Civic holiday weekend in August. It's about 1500km round trip, we go rain or shine, and there are very few rules - as a matter of fact, I can only think of two:

1) No alcohol or drugs of any kind while we are riding.
2) In the event of police pursuit, it's every man for himself.

It's all about having a good time - we ride hard, but we ride responsibly. We ride as a group (with the exception of the Elephant Lake Road race) and try our damnedest to disobey every posted speed limit we see.   After a great day spent blasting the twisties, our arrival in Calabogie sees the parking of the bikes for the night, followed by a mass consumption of alcohol.   Sunday's ride back is more of the same, however the pace is not quite what it was the day before as the hangover factor begins to take it's toll.  Our triumphant return home is signaled by the gathering of the Dogs for a barbecue feast, the telling of great stories, and more booze.  Thank God the Monday is a holiday...
